More woes for widow: Sua covering part of her face as she leaves the Sessions Court.

BUTTERWORTH: The Sessions Court here set a case management date of Feb 7 for a Datin Seri who was charged with failing to declare her assets.

Datin Seri Sua Lai Kim, 41, is alleged to have failed to submit a sworn declaration of her assets which she received between Jan 1, 2010, and April 30, 2015.

Sua, whose husband was found burnt to death in a jungle last year, had claimed trial to breaching a notice issued to her under Section 49(1) of the Anti-Money Laundering and Anti-Terrorism Financing Act 2001.

She denied committing the offence between June 19 and Sept 1, 2015, at the Attorney-General’s Chambers in Putrajaya.

The offence carries a maximum five years’ jail or fine not exceeding RM3mil, or both.

At the court yesterday, Sua arrived with her head covered with a scarf, accompanied by her counsel Datuk Jagjit Singh.

Sessions judge Norhayati Moha-mad Yunus fixed the date for case management while DPP Nur Ashikin Mokhtar prosecuted the case.

It was reported that Sua’s husband Datuk Seri Law Yeong Chow, 43, was last seen coming out of a foot reflexology centre on Jan 13, 2015, in Bukit Mertajam.

Several people then pulled up in two cars and bundled him into one of the vehicles before driving off.

His badly burnt body was found three days later at a jungle in Lumut, Perak.
