KUALA LUMPUR: It was day one on the job for the nation’s new Armed Forces Chief on Tuesday. 
After a short inspection of the guard-of-honour Jeneral Tan Sri Raja Mohamed Affandi Raja Mohamed Noor made his way into his office in Wisma Pertahanan here. 
As he made his way into his new office, Jen Raja Mohamed, 59, shared a light moment with his officers as he quipped about having to take a different entrance now. 
After the ceremony to commemorate his first day, Jen Raja Mohamed, who previously served as the army chief, said he owed it to his soldiers for where he was today. 
“I am here today because of them. The entire army community has supported me from the start until I have reached this office. 
“I will perform my duties to the best of my abilities. That is my promise,” said Jen Raja Mohamed. 
Jen Raja Mohamed, was born in Kampung Raja, Besut, Terengganu, and began his military career as a cadet officer. 
He served as the Army Field Command chief from June 2008 before he was made the Armed Forces Chief of Staff in October 2009. 
He assumed the position of Army chief in June 2013. 
With Jen Raja Mohamed as the new Armed Forces Chief, Jeneral Datuk Seri Zulkiple Kassim takes over as Army Chief. 
He previously served as the Army Field Commander (West).
