PETALING JAYA: Police have arrested the snatch thief who was caught on camera using his motorcycle to run over his victim in Klang.

According to a statement by Klang Utara OCPD Asst Comm Mohd Yusoff Mamat(pic), two suspects, brothers aged 32 and 28, were caught by police early Tuesday in Kampung Rantau Panjang, Klang.

ACP Mohd Yusoff said the older brother has been identified as the man seen in the video.

Police also recovered some of the items belonging to the victim, as well as the motorcycle used by the snatch thief, at the suspects' house.

The case is being investigated under Section 394 of the Penal Code for voluntarily causing hurt while committing robbery.

On Oct 20 at Kapar, Klang, a 56-year-old woman was attacked by a snatch thief while walking back home.

In the 20-second video that went viral on social media, the assailant is seen attempting to snatch her handbag.

His first attempt knocked down the woman.

He rode back to her while she was still on the ground and rammed his bike at the victim's head before speeding away with her bag.

The victim was injured on the head, hands and knees as a result of the attack.ACP Mohd Yusoff confirmed that the woman has recovered from her injuries and was sent home.
