MELODY UNITED'S RACE-WEEK SHOWCASE FT. KRIS PATT AND ZUL BACKED UP BY ELECTRIC 5 BAND
Kuala Lumpur, 25th September 2016 – Melody United held a mini concert on Sunday evening at Malaysia’s temple of music the Hard Rock Cafe Kuala Lumpur, the Race-Week showcase featured their very own recording artist Kris Patt and guest artist Zul Fazli both were backed by the Electric 5 Band. More than 200 invited guest and media attended the event.
Marcus Francis the Principal of Melody United welcomed the guest, in his speech he said Melody United Sdn Bhd was set up to be primarily an ASEAN recording label whose aim is to foster an ASEAN community through music.
As everyone speaks about the ASEAN community, other than the ability to travel within ASEAN without a visa there is no real all year round initiative to foster an ASEAN community.
Melody United intends to unearth new talents be it Singers or even bands through various initiative within ASEAN. If anyone of them fits the bill, they will be signed up under the label and given a .. recording contract.
Melody United started this initiative by signing up Kris Patt from Davao, Philippines as our first recording artist and recently produced her first single “Berhenti Menantimu”.
Recently described as “One of the Jewels of Davao” by Philippines Presidential Advisor Secretary Jesus Dureza, Kris Patt was chosen because of her ability wow the crowd and sing in different languages mainly English, Malay and Tagalog.
In true ASEAN Spirit, the Malay song “Berhenti Menantimu” by Kris Patt of Philippines was specially written for her by Tam Spider of Malaysia while the lyrics were written by popular Indonesian singer Yuka Kharisma, showcasing a Malaysia-Philippines- Indonesia initiative.
Zul gave an inspired performance that evening. His long hair and good look certainly won over the crowd the moment he got on stage but what a show he gave!. His powerful voice took the afternoon by storm. Zul is a seasoned performer on the Malaysian Club Circuit. His Band Electric 5 did a great job accompanying him and backing up Kris Patt.
It was an awesome afternoon of great music. Some of the Invited guest and media who were present were singing praises of Kris Patt and Zul.
Melody United is now in the search for new talents all over in ASEAN. Melody United plans to start the initiative by getting budding talents to send in the SMULE recordings of themselves singing one English song and one other song in their mother tongue. We will then shortlist only the very best and fly them in to Kuala Lumpur for a live audition.
Melody United will be holding Mini – Concerts at the Malaysian Temple of Music, The Hard Rock Cafe of Kuala Lumpur, every last Sunday of the month for the next 12 months. Melody United expects to spend no less than RM300,OOO on this mini concert initiative.
Those short listed who make the cut for the live auditions, will get a chance to perform at these mini concerts together with those already signed under Melody United’s label. We want to give top class entertainment to concert goers and bridge the ASEAN community by exposing singers from different countries to audiences. We plan to hold the same sort of events in other countries within ASEAN.
Melody United aspires to promote the label and artist in an ethical manner. It’s aspiration to be bridge the ASEAN community through music will be difficult to achieve without the full support of the media. We need not only the support of the Entertainment Media but also the Mainstream media and television stations. We need support to spread this initiative to bridge the ASEAN Community Through Music and not just promote the songs.
During these mini concerts Melody United plans to work with other recording labels in each country in order to cross promote each other’s talents under the label.
