Dela Rosa presents Vhon Tanto at MP

PNP Chief Ronald Dela Rosa presented road rage suspect Vhon Tanto in a press conference at Manila Police District (MPD) on Saturday morning.

Tanto has been brought to Manila from Masbate.

Dela Rosa chided Tanto for not being able to punch properly when he engaged victim Mark Vincent Geralde in a fistfight before he shot him at point blank range Monday night.

MPD Director Joel Coronel says, during his arrest in Masbate, Tanto attempted to flee, but he was cornered by the Philippine Army and police.

Tanto says, he went to Masbate because he feared for his life.

He also wants to ensure the safety of his family.

Tanto is being accompanied by his wife and children.

He is undergoing police booking and will be subjected to inquest proceedings at the Department of Justice.

Road rage suspect says cyclist was arrogant

ABS-CBN News

Road rage suspect Vhon Tanto admitted Saturday that his temper got the best of him when he shot cyclist Mark Vincent Geralde in Manila.

Tanto made headlines and enraged the public when a CCTV footage surfaced showing him shooting Geralde several times following a fistfight in Manila's Quiapo district last Monday.

In an exclusive interview with ABS-CBN News, Tanto claimed Geralde acted arrogantly. He said Geralde's confrontational stance resulted in their fistfight and the fatal shooting.

Tanto said, the altercation started when his car and Geralde's bike nearly had a collision.

Tanto arrived at the Manila Police District at 6:52 a.m. following an overnight trip from Masbate where he was taken by the police into custody.
