Boy, 9 falls to death from 20th floor balcony in Kota Damansara

A 9-year-old boy fell to his death from the 20th-floor balcony of his parents' condominium unit in Kota Damansara, here, last night.
The 8pm incident happened when the victim Chen Jing Wei, a Standard 3 student of SJKC Damansara, was waiting for his mother to return from work. District police chief Assistant Commissioner Mohd Zani Che Din said initial investigation revealed that the victim might have climbed onto an aircond compressor at the balcony and slipped.
He said the victim's sister and brother, aged 17 and 16, were at home when the incident happened. The sister told police that she was taking a shower when the incident happened, and that it was normal for the victim to wait at the balcony to see their mother return home. Zani said police received a call at 8.14pm and dispatched a team to the scene.
There, the team was informed by an ambulance team from Sungai Buloh Hospital that the victim sustained serious injury to his head and died on the spot. Chen's body was sent to the hospital for post-mortem.
