Student: Teacher raped me when I was 14

KUALA LUMPUR: A student is claiming she was raped several times by her tuition teacher when she was just 14 – but she is only coming out now to tell the story after finishing her SPM examinations.
The student claimed she was raped up to five times in 2012 by the history teacher in a tuition centre in Kota Kemuning, Shah Alam near here.
She said the first incident was in February 2012 when the teacher asked her to stay back after class as the other students were leaving.
She claimed the teacher tried to sexually assault her when the other students left but she managed to struggle free. The girl said the following month, the teacher asked her to stay back again and allegedly raped her this time.
She claimed that until May that year, the teacher raped her several times again after class.
According to her, during one of the incidents, the teacher had also asked her brother, who was also attending the same tuition class, to wait outside while he raped her.
Asked why she did not tell anyone about the incidents until now, the girl said she was afraid to tell her parents as she was afraid of the man, whom she described as a famous history teacher.
“I told my schoolmates about it but they didn’t believe me. They said it was impossible for him to rape me as he was a kind man,” she told a press conference, accompanied by Segambut MP Lim Lip Eng.
The girl’s father, who was also at the press conference, said the girl only told them about the incidents in October this year.
He said they lodged a police report on Dec 18, as he didn’t want her to be distracted from her SPM preparations.
He said the teacher turned up at their home several days after they lodged the police report while the girl was being examined at Universiti Malaya Medical Centre (UMMC).
He said only his son was at home at the time and refused to let the man in.
Lim urged similar victims to come forward, adding that some of the tuition centre staff had also agreed to assist police in investigations.
A call was also made to the tuition centre during the press conference but the person on the other side hung up when asked about the teacher.
