PETALING JAYA: A woman was detained for allegedly dropping yellow balloons from the upper floors of the Pavilion mall in Kuala Lumpur during an event attended by Prime Minister Najib Tun Razak and his wife Datin Seri Rosmah Mansor.
The woman was apprehended by auxiliary policemen and handed over to Dang Wangi police.
Dang Wangi OCPD Asst Comm Zainol Samah confirmed the incident, saying that police were still investigating the motive behind the woman's action.
"It is too early to reveal anything. We are investigating," he said when contacted on Monday.
News reports claimed that the woman had dropped yellow balloons while Najib was on the ground floor at the shopping mall during the launch of the DiverseCity 2015 Kuala Lumpur International Arts Festival.
There was a small commotion as many people started pointing to the air, but Najib and his wife did not react.
The colour yellow was the theme of the recent Bersih 4 rally last weekend
