Public Accounts Committee (PAC) investigations comes to a grinding halt as Najib appoints three members as Deputy Ministers

Cabinet reshuffle: PAC proceedings temporarily halted, chairman to step down

PETALING JAYA: Proceedings of the Public Accounts Committee (PAC) will be temporarily halted until there are replacements for those recently appointed to the Cabinet, said Datuk Nur Jazlan Mohamed (pic).
The PAC chairman also said that he would be stepping down from his post.
"I will step down from it," he said.
Other PAC members who have been appointed into the Cabinet include Datuk Seri Reezal Merican Naina Merican, Datuk Mas Ermieyati Samsudin and Datuk Wilfred Madius Tangau.
Deputy Parliament Speaker Datuk Ronald Kiandee said Standing Order 77(4) reads that "no members may be appointed or nominated to or act as a chairman or a member while he is a Minister."
"Our tradition is the respective parties will recommend the members of the replacement to the Committee of Selection," said Kiandee when contacted.
