KUALA Lumpur’s golden triangle now has a new shopping gem with Quill City Mall opening its doors.
Quill Group of Companies group executive director Datuk Michael Ong said since its soft opening last October, the 72,185sq m of nett retail space has more than 75% occupancy.
Unlike other shopping centres in Kuala Lumpur, Ong said the new icon in Jalan Sultan Ismail boasted a number of retail firsts, including greater accessibility.

He added, “Quill City Mall is linked directly to the Medan Tuanku Monorail station and an elevated walkway to the Sultan Ismail LRT station.
“Our anchor tenant, Aeon, brings its first department store and H&M has opened its latest store here which also features a homes division.”
Other attractions include London toy store Hamleys, Red Lobster, Celebrity Fitness, Daiso, Marche and GSC.
The eight-level retail shopping centre is part of a greater project by Quill, which includes a 36-storey residential building and hotel with service apartments.
Tourism and Culture Minister Datuk Seri Nazri Aziz who launched the mall on Jan 18, commended Quill Group for its contribution to the growth of Malaysia’s tourism industry.
“Malaysia’s shopping sector holds the second biggest share of tourist expenditure in the country.
“Shopping expenditure registered RM19.8bil in 2013, which was an increase of 6% compared to 2012. It also constituted 30.2% of total tourist expenditure for last year.”
He noted that Kuala Lumpur ranked as the World’s 4th Best Shopping City in 2012 and 2013 by global news network CNN.
“Quill City Mall’s opening will provide an additional driving force in maintaining Malaysia’s position as the best shopping destination in South-East Asia and among the top in Asia,” he said.
Nazri added that three out of 12 entry point projects of the Tourism National Key Economic Area involved the development of the country’s shopping scene and positioning Malaysia as a duty-free shopping destination.
Also present at the grand launch were Kuala Lumpur mayor Datuk Seri Ahmad Phesal Talib and Quill Group of Companies group managing director Datuk Dr Jennifer Low.
