- Gerakan Youth wants action on Zairil, Dyana intimate photos
Putting their differences aside, Penang Gerakan Youth today lodged a police report against the posting and spreading of rumours on DAP’s Zairil Khir Johari and Dyana Sofya Mohd Daud, who were recently featured in intimate photographs together on social media.
Jason Loo Jieh Sheng, the wing’s legal and public complaints bureau chief, said he wanted police and the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC) to act against the circulation of the rumours and unsubstantiated allegations behind the images.
After lodging the report at the George Town police headquarters today, Loo condemned the parties behind the latest rumours, claiming that it was Zairil’s wife who had uploaded the photos.
On October 19, photographs resembling Zairil, who is Bukit Bendera MP, and Dyana, who gained prominence following her failed bid to win the Teluk Intan by-election in May, surfaced on a Facebook page similar to Zairil's.
Zairil had called the photos “gutter politics at its lowest” and said he was looking at legal options against the perpetrators.
Loo today urged the police and MCMC to investigate the matter. – October 27, 2014.
