Insurance agent injured in Kajang shooting

KAJANG: An insurance agent was injured when he was shot in Jalan 2/13, Section 2, Taman Kajang Utama Wednesday night.

Kajang OCPD Asst Comm Ab Rashid Ab Wahad said, the man, in his thirties, was shot in his right leg in the 8pm incident.

"The man, from Puchong, was here to meet a client. He was still in his car, a white Honda Accord, when two suspects on a motorcycle approached him.

"The pillion rider then fired a shot which hit his right thigh," ACP Ab Rashid said when met at the scene.

The victim then sped off about 200m away from the scene to nearby shophouses to seek help.

"He decided to go to a crowded place before calling 999. He has been sent to Hospital Kajang," he said.

The victim is reported to be in stable condition.

The case is being investigated under Section 3 of the Firearms (Increased Penalties) Act 1971, which carries the mandatory death sentence.
