Hazmi Samsudin, 39, who was attached to the ministry’s National Key Result Area unit, allegedly committed the offences between June and October 2011 at Kompleks Pejabat Kerajaan Bukit Perdana in Jalan Dato’ Onn here.
He allegedly received 10 per cent from the payments made by various companies for hall renovation projects from Zainal Arifin Lahuri.
Hazmi was charged with accepting the bribes as an inducement to give orders to the National Welfare Foundation to award the projects in Perak to the companies.
The amount he allegedly received from all six projects totalled RM59,547.30.
Hazmi, who is now attached to the Public Services Commission, was represented by counsels Mohd Baharuddin Ahmad Kassim and Rusnan Hassan.
During mitigation for bail, Baharuddin said his client had to support his elderly parents and a wife.
He requested for bail to be set at RM30,000 for all charges.
However, deputy public prosecutor Khairul Anuar Wahab said the amount was too little and proposed RM300,000 instead.
Judge Ahmad Zamzani Mohd Zain fixed bail at RM60,000 in one surety and fixed July 22 for mention.
He also ordered the accused to surrender his passport to the court.
