Killer guard trial: Bank teller gags at photos of murdered colleague

SHAH ALAM: A bank teller gagged and choked at the sight of her deceased colleague who was fatally shot during a heist at AmBank branch in Subang Jaya last year.
Ifasri Wahyuni Mansur, 21, could not control her composure as she was shown photos of a lifeless Norazita Abu Talib (pic) for identification purposes.
She had earlier told the High Court on Tuesday that she was not “brave enough” to look at the photos.
However, Justice Akhtar Tahir, who presided over the trial, said Tuesday that Ifasri must try to identify the victim, as she was a witness on the stand.
Upon looking at the photos, the witness cupped her face with her hands several times. She managed to identify Norazita before she started to gag.
Justice Akhtar then ordered a 10-minute break to allow the witness to regain her composure.
Ifasri was testifying in the trial of Indonesian La Ode Ardi Rasila who is accused of murdering Norazita at an AmBank branch in USJ Sentral, Subang Jaya, between 6pm and 6.30pm on Oct 23, last year.
The witness said there were four bank staff including herself and an armed guard who were on duty at that time.
“I was at the operations counter (when it happened) doing filing work. I heard a loud sound and when I turned, I saw smoke. Arzanna Abdullah (bank staff who handled the safe with the victim) told me to look after Kak Ita (Norazita) who fell to the ground.
“I wanted to go to her but the guard pointed his pump gun at me and told me to go inside the operations room. I did as he told,” she said.
Ifasri recalled the guard packing up his bag and pump gun.
“Kak Ita was still moving, she turned towards me and Kak Ana (Arzanna) and then she slumped. She stopped moving,” she added.
She said she knew the guard as ‘Ardi Hamzah’ who was filling in the post of a permanent guard who went on leave on that day.
When asked to identify ‘Ardi Hamzah’, the witness gestured to La Ode who was sitting in the accused dock.
