The Director of the Economics Division, Prime Minister's Office, Datuk Azlin Alias will be appointed as the new Principal Private Secretary to the Prime Minister effective March 10.

Chief Secretary to the Government Tan Sri Dr Ali Hamsa said in a statement here today that the appointment was to replace Tan Sri Ab Aziz Kasim who goes on compulsory retirement on March 10.
"I believe the experience, knowledge and credibility possessed by Azlin will enable him to discharge his duty as the Principal Private Secretary to the Prime Minister in an excellent manner," he said.
He said the government also recorded its deepest gratitude and appreciation to Ab Aziz on his contributions and deeds throughout his services particularly as the Principal Private Secretary to the Prime Minister. -- BERNAMA
